Lean DataSM, our approach to measuring impact, was created by Acumen, a not-for-profit patient capital investor, to meet its own social impact measurement needs. We were looking for a customer-centric impact measurement approach that moved at the speed of business.
By 2015, using Lean Data, Acumen had high-quality, cross-portfolio, comparable impact data that went beyond basic measures such as “lives impacted.” As important, Acumen’s investees found this impact measurement valuable in helping them understand and better serve their customers.
In early 2019, seeing growing demand and the potential of a new, large-scale social impact measurement offering, Lean Data spun out of Acumen to form a new company, 60 Decibels. Today, we provide high-speed, high-quality, end-to-end customer insights, impact measurement services, and social impact benchmarking anywhere in the world.
